In continuation of Mr. Southorn's telegram
I on 72 815 of 15th March on the subject of the Colonial Development

Scheme, I have the honour to forward twelve copies of the
answers to the schedule of questions, as required by Your
Lordship's circular despatch of 13th August, 1929, in the
matter of the second section of the Shing Mun Waterworks
Scheme, together with twelve copies of the report on the
scheme in question of which you were informed in my
confidential despatch of 18th June.

I would request that an application from this
Goverment for assistance to carry out this scheme be put
before the Advisory Committee for its sympathetic
consideration.

With reference to the instructions contained
in the fourth paragraph of Your Lordship's circular (2) despatch of 6th November, 1929, I regret that only three copies of the current Estimates for this Colony are available, the issue being now out of print. I accordingly
forward that number herewith.

Further applications in respect of a new
Civil Hospital and a new Gaol will be submitted when these
schemes are at a more advanced stage than at present.
